haha.. So we missed yesterday, kidlet was crankenfied and then today he was all sick- so.. stuff got all side tracked. I’m posting tonights super late because I was finishing up the finale of the countdown– my new kit Birthday Monsters!   The best birthday present I got was for my 40th when my husband took me to Niagara Falls - my birthday is July 1 which is also Canada Day…so I got to watch fireworks over Niagara Falls on my actual birthday.

I think it was prolly the fireworks that did him in LOL.. he just adores them. He said it was really sweet and even said aw (though he was unaffected by all the engagement rings and babies.. he is still a boy LOL).. surprisngly, he also DOES know what Niagra falls is– I may have to take him there one day just because

Kidlet is with his dad tonight, so you’re all stuck with just me.. mwahaha.. lol Actually, we discussed this on the way to school :p so I haven’t really taken control of the countdown :p I just like to pretend the little monkey doesn’t totaaaaally rule my life.. but we all know he does LOL. Anyway, I discovered, randomly, that connor loves math. School has been quite a little struggle from the get go (ok it’s just kindy, but seriously, do you see what they teach these kids in kindy now? haha). He’s been having a tough time, so finding ANYTHING that he loves and is GREAT at is.. well is stinkin awesome right now.. and low and behold, my most dreaded subject, math, ends up being something he is randomly really really great at. So to pass the time, we play simple adding/subtracting games now. He likes to quiz me.. and it’s embarrassing that I usually have to count on my fingers and my 5 (erm almost 6) year old can do it all in his head in an instant. It’s a blessing in disguise of course, because I’ve been REALLY afraid of what’s to come & any homework help lol..

goodness me I babble.. anyway.. so we decided today, esp since ce won’t be here tonight to direct me, that we’d give everyone a coupon to my store here @ scrapfasticdesigns.com.. of course, a silly math problem HAD to be the total % off and since this IS his birthday countdown, that equation had to be the sum  of 12 (dec) 19 (the day he was born) 03 (the year he was born) which equals… 34 ! ( I hope.. I didn’t have my kid here to add that for me :p haha).

Today we decided to do a (super easy) little contest/giveaway. Connor wants to know what your favorite birthday present EVER was. Connor answered the question as well.. and said HIS favorite bday present ever was Lego’s! Which I gave to him a few days ago early because he had a tough day with all the dr stuff lately. He def does love them and is building something new at every moment!

Not Christmas.. ^_^ Around here, the big countdown in december is to my kiddo’s birthday! If you received my newsletter last night you know that I mentioned Connor and I were busy planning away some fun stuff for the blog this week. This time of year is always tough on me- Connor didn’t have a super warm and fuzzy entry into the world and ordinarily, I stare at the wall for these next two weeks and get wicked grumpy and totally miss out on all the holiday cheer. This year we (well I.. he doesn’t really get a say in my moods LOL) decided that enough was enough! We’re going to find a way to make the Countdown to SIX super fun! So for the rest of the week be sure to check back here and see what Connor and I have planned out.. there may be freebies, or coupons, or contests who knows! December 19th marks the end of the countdown, where we celebrate his 6th year in this world.. The following week.. on christmas day, we celebrate the day he came home from the hospital! Christmas is extra special around here.. even if I am Miss Grinch leading up to it :]
